Volunteer educational and mentoring support for nonprofit organizations and their participants as they aspire to a new life.  The following are the list of services provided in the program.  Please contact us if you have any questions or need additional information for your organization.

Basic Skills Assessment

30-minute discussion with each participant 

  • Review and record history of skills, education, skills, experience.

  • Discuss and record interest in potential career and jobs.

  • Review, recommend and record basic educational needs: e.g., English as a second language, computer literacy and typing skills.

Life Map Assessment

Participants are assisted in using their Basic Assessment to evaluate their path forward.  A Life Map is created detailing:

  • How to progress toward desired jobs and career.

  • Discuss and map any important life milestones.

  • Basic, vocational and higher educational options and choices.

  • Create a roadmap and timeline to set expectations.

Advanced Skills Assessment

Participants are provided skills that help to function in today’s environment to work and live.  Basic skills include:

  • Email and Internet

  • Typing skills

  • Writing skills to improve writing school papers and work documents

  • Personal Finance

  • Microsoft Office

    • MS Word to create documents for school and work

    • MS Excel to create reports and budgets

Advanced Skills Education

Participants are provided advanced and technical training to support their college and professional career goals.  Advanced skills include:

  • Introduction to Business in the US

  • Computer programming

  • Computer tech support

  • Computer Networking

  • Website design

  • Project management

Students

Mentoring Assignment

Volunteer mentor for each participant with experience within a trade or career.

  • Review Life Map progress with participant.

  • Develop a mentoring relationship to help guide and discuss events and opportunities as they occur.

  • Consistent source of encouragement to help participants maintain their life path.

  • Provide input and advice to participant’s support team.
